Testimonials SUBWAY MULTI-STORE FRANCHISEES We have utilized the Telequip coin dispensers for several years now. With all of the focus on through put, we feel that they save our Sandwich Artists anywhere from 5 to 7 seconds per transaction. They are much more accurate (dispensing the proper amounts in the lowest denominations) than having Sandwich Artists handing out change. We always purchase the additional canister. A single canister can be filled to the level that we can conduct over $2,000.00 in sales without having to refill or change a canister. We've had no major service issues and the minor ones that we have had were simply loose screws that could be tightened/replaced by our store people. We strongly recommend that, as new stores open or existing stores remodel, that franchisees budget for a Telequip coin dispenser for each P.O.S. system. They will recoup their investment in short order! Kevin & Kelly Brough DUNKIN' DONUTS / KFC FRANCHISEE Hello fellow franchisees, My name is Jason Bower, my father and I have two Dunkin Donuts and a KFC in Pennsylvania. We use the coin dispenser in all three of our drive thru's. We take great pride in delivering the best service in the business. We have been told by both Dunkin Donuts and KFC that our drive thru's are among the fastest they have ever seen. Just last week at the Dunkin Donuts we ran 175 cars between 7:30 - 8:30am. We have determined that the coin dispenser added 20-25 cars per hour, and has also cut down on the money management part as well! We have had the machine for over 10 yrs, only once has it broken down, but was fixed and returned very promptly. Another great plus is the fact that the employees love it. They have told us many times over that they could never do the cars they do without the help & accuracy of the coin dispenser. Jason Bower DARI MART CONVENIENCE STORE Background: Dari Mart is a family owned and operated chain of convenience stores headquartered in Junction City, Oregon. Originally founded in 1940 as a Dairy Farm, they opened their first five stores in 1965. Today, they successfully operate 43 stores throughout Southwest Oregon with plans for future expansion within the state. The problem: Dari Mart originally used Casio plug and play cash registers at each of its locations. “We were having problems with stores charging incorrcct retails and clerk’s under-ringing or incorrectly adjusting prices,” said Kurt Straube, Operations Manager. “We also had an ongoing problem with clerk’s returning too much change.” The solution: Straube made the decision to upgrade Dari Mart’s POS technology. NCR RealPOS 70 terminals with Pinnacle PALM software were installed in each of their stores between November 2004 and January 2005. “I wanted to be as current in terms of technology as possible. It just made sense to install the Telequip coin dispensers at the same time that we installed our new POS systems,” explained Straube. “The Telequip coin dispensers have definitely proved to be worth the investment.” Benefits: Dari Mart installed 84 Telequip T-Flex coin dispensers among its 43 stores. “We’ve seen tremendous benefits since installing the coin dispensers. I’d have to say that two of the biggest have been timesaving and accuracy. We did a beta test in two of our stores and determined that clerk’s saved on average 4 or 5 seconds per transaction,” said Straube. “As far as accuracy, the coin dispensers have been invaluable,” said Straube. “Between cash and coin a lot of mistakes were being made throughout the day, particularly during our busy hours. The coin dispensers have taken us from totally unacceptable to totally acceptable.” Ease of use: Although the stores are equipped with Telequip speed loaders and extra canisters, Straube explained that today they are rarely used because the clerk’s have become so proficient at re-loading the canister’s prior to the end of their shifts. “Each clerk starts and ends their shift with a $140 till set-up that includes $99 in coin. As their drawers begin to accumulate coin, they simply reload their canister before the end of their shift so that the next clerk can begin their shift with a full canister. It’s pretty remarkable,” said Straube. Customer confidence: Straube cites customer confidence as yet another benefit of having Telequip coin dispensers. “We’ve noticed that customers just scoop up their change from the coin dispenser cup without even counting it. Before, they’d be counting each penny. Now, they feel assured that the coin dispenser is giving them the correct change. It eliminates that human error factor.” In addition to timesaving, reduced cashier errors and accuracy, Straube said that the Telequip coin dispensers have reduced the workload in the back office by simplifying money handling. “Overall, we are extremely pleased with the Telequip product. It’s made a tremendous difference in the way we do business at Dari Mart.” QUIZNOS FRANCHISEE Ask Quiznos franchise owner and manager Beth Good how she likes her Telequip Transact 2+ coin dispenser, and she responds enthusiastically, “I can’t imagine running my business without it.” “My customers are always in a hurry,” said Good, “so installing Telequip’s Transact 2+ coin dispenser was to me, an obvious solution to getting people in and out of the store quickly.” Good was given the option of purchasing a coin dispenser by Quiznos corporate. “It was my decision to install the coin dispenser. I had seen it demonstrated during my franchise training and immediately knew it would help to simplify my operation.” Before opening her store, Good knew she was going to face many of the hurdles that franchise owners often encounter, including long lines and cashier errors. “My coin dispenser has nipped those problems in the bud by saving at least six seconds off of every transaction,” said Good. “The coin dispenser allows me to move my entire line faster because my cashier is not spending valuable seconds counting out change.” As for cashier mistakes, “Believe it or not, some employees are just not very good at counting change. The coin dispenser automatically does it for them. I also love the fact that my employees never have to touch the coins, it’s a hands-free concept,” said Good. Good has one cashier on the coin dispenser but has trained four employees. “There’s pretty much zero training,” said Good. “You basically just turn it on, unlock it and you’re good to go.” Good unequivocally recommends the Transact 2+ coin dispenser to other business owners. “Without a doubt I’d recommend it to other Quiznos franchisees. The combination of the Transact 2+ coin dispenser and the quality of my product ultimately make for a winning combination.” Beth Good SUBWAY MULTI-STORE FRANCHISEE Dear Franchisees, I would like to share an experience with all of you regarding a Telequip coin dispenser. A while back Claudia had suggested that we install a coin dispenser in our UCLA / USC locations. I was very hesitant initially; I didn't think that it was going to make such a big deal in terms of speeding up service. BOY WAS I EVER WRONG!!! When we first installed the coin dispenser, many of our managers complained that it was too time consuming to fill up. After a couple of weeks of usage I noticed that we were speeding up service a great deal. The bottleneck use to be at our registers and this solved all our problems. I wanted to take some time out and first THANK Claudia for the great insight and also relay my positive feelings about the Telequip coin dispenser. I truly believe that any store doing over $9000 should have one. It speeds up service and your customers will notice the difference. I now have Telequip coin dispensers in all of our stores and sales are up 6-13% between all my stores over last year! This investment went along way for us! Bob Grewal SUBWAY FRANCHISEE “Every franchisee should be using a Telequip coin machine on their register. It is a smart business decision to help increase sales and profits! I have been using the Telequip coin changers for years now. I cannot imagine my business without them. Whether you have a high volume store or not, a coin machine can help cut every transaction down by at least an average of 5 seconds; that really adds up when you are doing 100+ units per hour. On average we are now doing 20+ more units per hour during our peak times. A coin machine shouldn’t be considered an expense, it is an investment which pays itself off very quickly!” Jay Bentz, multi-unit Subway Franchisee DQ Grill & Chill Franchisee I wanted to let you know that having installed your change dispenser has been a real benefit for our store. Speed of service as well as cash accuracy have been improved as a result. Thank you for your prompt and efficient service. Marc Plaisted, DQ Grill & Grill QUIZNOS FRANCHISEE “We were introduced to the Telequip coin dispensers as Quiznos franchisees. In a business with heavy rushes, we’ve found coin dispensers to be literally indispensable. In addition to cutting down on cash shortages, speedier transactions times easily rationalize the cost of these units for our Cold Stone stores. The Telequip units integrate seamlessly into the Panasonic POS, with only a few keystrokes needed. One unit holds over $100 in change. While we have two units in operation, a franchisee might initially consider installing one unit on the main POS. Southwest Business Systems offers extremely competitive pricing on these units, coupled with their outstanding service and support.” Renny Goldstein, franchisee DISTRIBUTOR “Our company, CRS Inc,. has worked with many peripheral vendors over the last 15 years. Recently, a large QSR account we were working with required Telequip coin dispensers for a new product CRS had developed. Their time frame was very tight as they were quickly opening new stores nationwide. CRS had all the items in stock except the Telequip coin dispensers. Telequip quickly developed a reliable interface for our product, and were able to adjust their production schedule to meet the customer's rollout plan. We were able to meet all deadlines an no store openings were delayed. Telequip has proven to be an excellent supplier for CRS and the product has been extremely reliable. We recommend that other retailers consider the benefits of using coin dispensers and to choose Telequip as your vendor for these products!” Craig Fuss, National Sales Manager Dealer Line Products, CRS, Inc. MCDONALD’S RESTAURANT MANAGER “The Telequip coin changer has helped decrease our service times in several restaurants. Our large quick service restaurant chains sometimes makes those last minute decisions to add equipment just prior to openings and, when our inventory is short one or two units, you've always come through. And a special thanks for the help with our special customer who has two artificial arms and needed a way to give change at his store when he is working the cash register at his Convenience Store. The key pad you made to activate the changer solved the problem.” David Yeargan, General Manager, Data Cash Register Co. SUBWAY FRANCHISEE “I just wanted to drop you a note and let you know how satisfied we are with your coin dispensers. We have them in all but one of our 14 stores and love them. Carl Rosberg, Rosberg Management SUBWAY FRANCHISEE “I have just purchased my sixth Telequip Coin Dispenser. They are easy to install and are trouble free in use. Don Murphy, Subway Franchisee SUBWAY FRANCHISEE Franchisee Jack T. Bickmore owns 25 Subway stores in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. He purchased his first Telequip T2+ coin dispenser back in October 2005 as a trial, and has been so pleased with it that he has since ordered 24 additional units for his remaining stores. "The impact on throughput from an operational sense has been tremendous," said Bickmore. "Since installing the coin dispensers, we are processing orders 20% faster than before. In fact, during a typical lunch hour we are getting about 15-20 additional customers through the door." Bickmore was quick to point out how thrilled his customers have been with the speed of service, "While providing quality food is of the utmost importance, our customers place a lot of emphasis on service. They have a limited amount of time for lunch so the last thing they want to do is wait. With the coin dispensers there are no more long lines." Although the dispensers have only been in use for a matter of months, Bickmore has already seen an increase in profits. "Anytime you’re dealing with improvements in throughput and productivity you will see a positive impact on your bottom line," he noted. Bickmore’s Subway stores are so busy, he has replacement canisters at the ready during peak periods. "The POS notifies us when it’s time to replace the canister. We keep a replacement on hand that can easily be swapped," he said. As far as installation, Bickmore found it couldn’t have been easier "It took me all of 15 minutes to install the coin dispenser. The owner’s manual and instructions were excellent. It was a completely non-threatening experience." Overall, Bickmore is thrilled with his purchase. "Telequip is fantastic to deal with. As a franchisee, I often run across my share of poor customer service with various vendors. Not so with Telequip. Their infrastructure is excellent. They are a pleasure to deal with." Jack T. Bickmore, Subway Franchisee
